Elevator Mirror Stainless Cabin

Glossary Elevator Mirror Stainless Cabin

An elevator car interior finished with mirror-polished (No. 8) or brush-mirror stainless steel panels on walls, doors, and ceiling, offering high reflectivity and a visually spacious effect.

Full Definition
A mirror stainless elevator cabin uses AISI 304 or 316 stainless steel sheet with a No. 8 (mirror) or BA (bright annealed) surface finish, achieving Ra ≤ 0.05 µm and ≥ 65 % specular reflectivity. Construction details: (1) panels are typically 1.2–1.5 mm thick sheet folded and fixed to the cabin steel framework with concealed stainless fixings or double-sided structural adhesive; (2) joints are either tight-butted (< 0.5 mm gap) or covered with matching trim strips; (3) lower wall zones up to 400 mm height may use satin (No. 4) or brushed (No. 3) finish for scratch resistance in the kick zone; (4) stainless handrails, car operating panel surround, and threshold are integrated into the scheme. Maintenance: mirror surfaces show fingerprints and require frequent cleaning with microfibre cloths and neutral stainless-steel cleaners; anti-fingerprint (AF) PVD-coated variants reduce maintenance burden. AISI 316 is specified in coastal or high-humidity environments to prevent tea staining. Mirror cabins are standard in luxury residential, hotel, and high-end commercial elevator installations.
