Load bypass activates when the weighing device detects that the car has reached or exceeded a set percentage of its rated capacity — typically 80% or above. The controller suppresses response to hall calls for the current journey and the car travels non-stop to its registered car call floor. This prevents additional passengers being stranded due to an overfull car stopping at their floor and unable to take them. Load bypass improves traffic handling efficiency during peak periods in high-rise buildings and prevents the nuisance of stopped doors that cannot accept more passengers.
